If you don't have friends that are holding you hostage to play on the"global" version of PSO2 its best to at the minimum to Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta check out the japanese models. While the sport is grindy, there's usually a ton of catch-up mechanics and welfare gear.

I don't believe the loot is really that grindy. Leveling up is decently grindy, especially near the level cap but you begin the endgame before the complete max level and unlocking degree cap raises are kind of there just for unlocking higher grade engame content. Do not play on the SEA server though, it's super p2w and though it has official English (Engrish) translation, it is terrible. Except the monthly sub is helpful, japanese does not have elements.

(you may get few day duration vip cards from accomplishments but it is a whole lot simpler if you don't have to worry about this as"resource management") If you want to play multiple courses optimally, you have to buy an excess pet slot because you only get one free of charge. You can clear pretty much everything using a 0-stat pet but obtaining a stat boost is obviously really helpful. Most classes are covered with two pets (bodily / magic attack) but two of the classes receive somewhat better stats with DEX however they could use phys or magical attack.

If you wish to optimize raid dps also the Force consumer, one course, needs a skill tree. It is not necessary but it's the only class really affected by enemy element resistance/weakness because it is the only one with a choice of a skill construct for 2 distinct elements. You don't need to buy PSO2 Meseta pay for anything if you want to play merely one of the two damage types (physical / magical) optimally but if you want to play a greater number at endgame and care about optimizing, it sucks that you are forced to purchase the pet slot despite the game differently lacking any p2w features. It doesn't cost much.
