  • Many different responses have been received from readers regarding the most effective method for cleaning micro channel coils. However, in order to properly clean them, it is necessary to gain a better understanding of the materials from which they are constructed. An overview of micro channel technology is provided in the following sections, which also include information on how to properly clean micro channel coils and other related topics.

My understanding of exactly what micro channel coils are and how they function in practice remains somewhat vague.

Micro channel coils, on the other hand, are made up of flat tubes that have tiny channels or tunnels running through them along their entire length, which can be described as follows:In order to properly clean coils, it is best to use foaming coil cleaners, such as SpeedyFoam, or coil cleaners that are pH neutral, such as BBJ's Power Coil Clean (which is available in a variety of sizes).

When you plan to use pressurized water or a water/cleaner mixture for the second time, make certain that you are using a machine or nozzle that is specifically designed for the task at hand. When cleaning condenser units, the most effective combination for cleaning thick micro channel coils (those with a diameter greater than 1 inch) is a combination of medium water pressure and high water volume, which is the most effective combination for thick micro channel coils. Even though the amount of water required to clean smaller micro channel coils (less than 1 inch in diameter) is less, a peak cleaning pressure of at least 100 psi is required for proper cleaning of these smaller coils. When direct spray pressures greater than 140 pounds per square inch are applied without the use of a spray pattern nozzle designed specifically for this purpose, it is possible for your fins to be folded as a result.

Using a coil cleaner that uses as little water as possible while still providing 100 psi or more pressure when cleaning the evaporator coils is preferable, but it is not always possible. It will not put any strain on your condensate pans or pumps despite the fact that it has a lot of cleaning power. The bottom line is that, when cleaning micro channel coils, always use the appropriate tool for the job at hand. In this particular instance, it is not a hypothesis, but rather a scientifically proven truth.

    • When using commercially available cleaners, the manufacturer's instructions should always be carefully read and followed, according to him

    • If you are cleaning your coils, the vast majority of manufacturers recommend that you thoroughly rinse them to ensure that all detergent and debris has been removed from the coils before reinstalling them

    • Small-diameter copper tube coils are intended to provide many of the same advantages as micro channel tube, including their small size, light weight, low material costs, high heat transfer coefficients, and low refrigerant charge

It is necessary to keep these coils clean in the same way that aluminium micro channel tube are kept clean, but the procedures for doing so are slightly different because of the difference in construction methods used in their manufacture. The round-tube plate-fin coils, which have round tubes as opposed to the flat-tube multi port tube, which have flat tubes and are referred to as "microchannel coils" due to their flat shape, are two examples of this type of coil.
