ROOFTOP SCULPTURE PARK AND ART BAR OPENS

IN CENTRAL STOCKHOLM

EXOPARK ART BAR, SVEAVÄGEN 44
OPEN ALL SUMMER, 12 – 10 pm

On June 26 this summer's most exciting art experience will open. The Swedish artist Thomas Hämén has created a customised Absolut Art Bar at the rooftop of Diligentias building at Sveavägen 44, and Galleri Andersson/Sandström has curated a sculpture park with 16 sculptures. Urban Deli will also be present with a bar, café, restaurant and marketplace. The roof will be open the whole summer from noon until 10 pm, all days until late September.

The sculpture park

The sculpture park with 16 sculptures is organised and curated by Galleri Andersson/Sandström. It will be possible to see pointy signs, organic bronze and colourful enigmatic sculptures in works by Tony Cragg, Astrid Sylwan, Mikael Richter, Roland Persson, Kari Cavén and Wilhelm Mundt presented in an environment not unlike The Highline in NYC. Guided tours possible.

Exopark Art Bar

In Thomas Hamén’s installation Exopark, the artist has looked at the sensation of being present somewhere and at the same time be distant and feel like an observer. The installation consists of a sound based art surveillance system, with sound pipes that transports sound from one place to another. This result in an experience of eavesdropping. Thomas Hamén (b.1987) is a Swedish artist working in Berlin and Stockholm. He graduated from the Riyal Academy of Arts in Stockholm 2015.

Absolut Art Bar

Absolut has a tradition of making spectacular Art Bars with art installations in collaboration with artists worldwide. Art Basel in Basel, Hong Kong and Miami Beach and Art Dubai is just some of the locations where artists like Adrian Wong, Mickalene Thomas, Nadim Abbas and art collective Caravan have created Art Bars. The installations are something out of the ordinary, where the artist constructs another world and an experience which resembles travelling through time more than a place. This summer an Art Bar is built high up in the Stockholm sky.

Galleri Andersson/Sandström

Galleri Andersson/Sandström is based in Stockholm and Umeå. As one of Scandinavia’s leading galleries focusing on contemporary art, it represents established names and emerging artists. The gallery has a special interest in sculpture and public commissions, but both painting and photography can also be found in the exhibition program.
